Imagine you are going deep into a cave where it is pitch black. Or walking through an unknown forest with little to no moonlight. You would likely wear a headlamp so that you could keep your hands free for whatever is needed. But what if you also had strap-on lamps on your boots that lit the path directly in front of you? Wouldn’t that expose any obstacles you might trip over, or a hole you might step into?

It would be very risky to traverse those types of environments without enough light to see what you’re up against—or to avoid a fall.

In the same way, during our life on earth, we are traversing a world that is spiritually dark and full of pitfalls. This world is Satan’s kingdom and therefore is set up to steal from us, kill us, and destroy us.

Using the principle of this message is how I overcame cancer, and received healing in several situations. It’s also how Dale and I have avoided many pitfalls during our lives. This message is full of powerful truth and works wonderfully well for anyone.

Jesus told his followers: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Praise the Lord… as followers of Jesus, we have protection. We have guidance. We have Someone watching out for us—safely leading us through the trials and tribulations this world exposes us to. However, it requires us to follow our Lord’s direction in order to have safe passage.

Because we are created as spiritual beings, (who also have a soul and live inside a body while here on earth), we need spiritual food and spiritual wisdom to traverse safely through this dark, fallen world. We have a Scripture which David wrote which describes this need… and the solution!

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). Consider that you are the person walking in the dark, needing to avoid pitfalls and obstacles to remain safe. This Scripture tells us how to do that—to use God’s Word to light our way.

The “light” is described as a footlight that reveals the next steps we are to take. It lights up the obstacle just ahead that we should avoid. It reveals a safe pathway. It is a priceless asset to those who place their trust in Jesus.

This light is not described as the light that shines into the far distance to only reveal our destination, and then leaves us on our own in our day-to-day life. We may miss our destination altogether if we do not use this supernatural light to lead us daily—step by step.

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).

What a blessing the above verse promises us! Yet, it lays down a condition to receive the promise. This is common throughout Scripture: A blessing with a condition.

Sadly, too many grab the promise and overlook the condition required to receive. Then wonder why their prayers are not working… and often blame God as untrustworthy. Or worse, as a liar. Nothing could be further from the truth!

The Bible tells us that the enemy sets snares for us. He plans strategies that trap us and deceive, in order to trick us onto the wrong path… toward destruction. If we do not have the “light of truth” to guide us safely every step of the way, we are vulnerable to being misled. The Bible tells us that God’s Word is truth, “The entirety of Your word is truth…” (Psalm 119:160). Which also makes God’s Word “the “light” we desperately need.

So, we learn that the Word of God = truth = light. That the Word, is in fact, Jesus Christ, incarnate (John 1:1, John 1:14). We also understand that Jesus is the “Light of the World” (John 8:12).

Jesus/Savior/God/Light/Truth/Word… these are interchangeable revelations. Each are needful to know personally and intimately, in order to make it safely through our life in this fallen world.

Only with the supernatural, spiritual truth of God and His Word (Jesus) can we overcome.

Today… and every day, I encourage you to spend time in God’s Word. It is nourishment for your spirit and spiritual wisdom to direct your steps. When we know God’s Word, the Holy Spirit can use it to guide us around obstacles that might otherwise cause us to stumble or miss our goal.

It’s not enough to know where we’re going. We must take the journey WITH our Savior and allow Him to direct our steps.

“As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him” Colossians 2:6 AMP.

With God, nothing is impossible!

What Others Are Saying:
“Captain Dale’s heart is without a doubt in the right place. He helps us with our own salvation immensely. We are ALL going to die but before another minute goes by we MUST REPENT. Many people fail to do so and they risk losing Heaven and may have to suffer the pains of Hell forever.” – William
“Thank you so much Dale and Paula for the clarification on the end times and what happens. It was so confusing to understand fully before. Thanks for all your hard work and faithfulness.” – Linda
“Amazing story of God ‘s hand moving in Dale’s life in the book “Visiting Heaven”. If you don’t believe in miracles, his story could change your mind. Dale points to one who is behind the miracles. All glory to Jesus Christ, the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit within us.” – Jeff
“Your article: “Preparing for the Rapture” is a good solid presentation. It is more than preparing for the rapture, it is preparing for the end times where Satan’s fury against God and all that is His will be unleashed to the full. We will be need to have the full armor of God as you said to make it through victoriously until we are raptured when Jesus returns in power and glory and declares his victory. Until then the word of truth you have told us needs to be firmly in our hearts and mind and lives. Thank for your solid teaching based on the Word God has given us.” – Jacques
