There’s a new gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ that is being peddled to pastors as a solution for stemming the declining numbers of churches in America. Pastors, especially in start-up churches, are shifting to this new gospel–which I call the “gospel of convenience.” The Bible warns us that In the last days, deception will seep into the church. The word ‘church’ in this context is referring to a group of Christians–not a building.
You need to understand that The “Church” is the front line of the battlefield in these last days. If Satan can quench the effectiveness of God’s people, he can fulfill his agenda in the world quite easily. The Bible cautions about false teachers coming into the church to deceive many. Why? For the purpose of neutralizing his biggest threat. Both Jesus and Paul distinctly warned us of Satan’s strategy to attack within the church through false doctrines and deceptive leaders (2 Peter 2:1-10).
Stay focused on God’s promises. His Word is true. God is faithful and He loves you without conditions. But His saving grace requires us to continue to walk in agreement with His will if we want to experience His benefits and be all that He created us to be. Let’s always remember, with God nothing is impossible.
