Many believers consider eating and drinking in Heaven to be nonspiritual. After all, in Heaven our resurrected bodies are imperishable. Why would anyone need to eat, right? So after my experience, I again turned to a rock-solid Bible translation and found this is not as nonspiritual and ridiculous as it might sound.
In the beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, He gave them many types of fruit-bearing trees and green plants for food. (Gen. 1:29-30 and Gen. 2:9). Eating on earth is not a sin. It is the way God designed for our bodies to receive nourishment to sustain life.
“The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground–trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground–everything that has breath of life in it–I give every green plant for food.’”
