Need more answers to prayer?
Then slow down and consider this question:
What caused Jesus to stop in His tracks in Mark 10?
The passage says, “And Jesus stood still.”
Think about that for a moment. Crowds surrounded Him. Needs were everywhere. Yet something caused the Son of God to stop and give His full attention to one blind beggar.
Why?
Many people assume it was compassion alone. Others say it was to demonstrate God’s power. Certainly those things were present. But Jesus Himself gave a different explanation.
When the blind man cried out, Jesus asked, “What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?”
The man replied, “Lord, that I might receive my sight.”
Then Jesus said something remarkable:
“Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.”
What faith?
Was Jesus simply discerning something? Of course, He could. He was God in the flesh and still is God today. But. But look carefully at what He actually said. Jesus did not say, “My power healed you.” He said, “Your faith hath made thee whole.”
Immediately the man received his sight and followed Jesus.
So what happened?
Why did Jesus stop in the first place? Why was this man healed while many others remained in need? What was it about this blind beggar that arrested the attention of Heaven?
The answer is hidden in plain sight.
But it cannot be grasped merely by intellectual analysis. It must be spiritually discerned.

Jesus knew that the beggar faith was complete
All things are possible with God! The blind man was first crying for mercy, and Jesus knew he believed and his faith caused Jesus to stop. I love this passage. Not all that followed had faith or believed on him.
The beggar had heard of Jesus’ coming to his area and heard of him healing others which consummated his faith to call out to Jesus to heal him. It’s what a Jesus wants from us faith in Him, choosing Him!
Yes, absolutely! He had heard about Jesus, believed what he had heard, and then acted on that faith by crying out to Him. What a wonderful reminder that Jesus desires us to put our faith in Him, call upon Him, and choose to trust Him. Thank you for sharing!
Jesus saw the man’s faith through him crying out to him. In his heart, the man was declaring Jesus to be who He said He was, and Jesus healed him, using it as a sign to glorify the Father for all the world to see (both then, now, and for all eternity).
Amen! His faith was expressed through his persistence in crying out to Jesus, believing that He truly was the One who could heal him. What a powerful reminder that genuine faith reaches beyond what we can see and places its confidence in who Jesus is. And as you said, the result brought glory to God. Thank you for sharing this!
