What if one of the biggest reasons people struggle to receive healing isn’t because God is withholding it…

…but because they’ve been taught to look in the wrong place?

That may sound like a bold statement, but when I read the Gospels, I see something very different from what many Christians have been taught.

Jesus never questioned whether it was God’s will to heal. He simply healed.

One of the clearest examples is the woman with the issue of blood. After suffering for twelve years and exhausting every earthly option, everything changed in a single moment when she encountered Jesus.

Her story reveals four powerful keys that every believer should understand.

1. Choose Your Kingdom

Luke tells us that this woman had “spent all her livelihood on physicians” and still found no cure.

“Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment.”
— Luke 8:43-44 (NKJV)

For twelve years she looked to the systems of this world first. She exhausted every resource she had, yet her condition remained.

Then she made a different choice.

She turned to Jesus.

There are only two kingdoms at work in this world: the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of God. Every day we choose which kingdom we will ultimately trust.

This doesn’t mean God can never use a doctor. There were times in my own life when the Lord specifically directed me to seek medical help. But my confidence was never in medicine itself. My confidence was in God, who may choose to use many different tools.

The point is this: your ultimate trust belongs in God’s Kingdom.

Jesus already accomplished everything necessary for our redemption through His finished work on the cross.

“It is finished!”
— John 19:30 (NKJV)

Healing isn’t something God is trying to invent for you today. Through Christ, He has already made provision for it.

2. Put Your Faith into Action

The woman didn’t simply believe Jesus could heal her.

She acted on what she believed.

She pressed through the crowd and touched the hem of His garment.

Jesus immediately knew that power had gone out from Him, yet He hadn’t even seen her yet.

“Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
— Luke 8:46 (NKJV)

Faith is never merely agreement in your mind.

Biblical faith moves.

Mark’s account tells us something even more revealing:

“For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.'”
— Mark 5:28 (NKJV)

She believed in her heart.

She confessed it with her mouth.

Then she acted on what she believed.

That is living faith. That is the God-kind of faith.

Too many Christians say they believe God can heal while never taking the steps He places before them. Faith always expresses itself in action. Always.

3. God’s Healing Power Is Already Waiting

One of the greatest misconceptions in the Church is the idea that we’re waiting on God.

Most often, the opposite is true.

God is waiting on us.

Jesus wasn’t searching for someone to heal that day. He was on His way to another urgent situation when this woman reached out in faith. The power of God was already present. Her faith simply accessed what was available.

Think about electricity flowing through the wiring in your home.

The power is already there.

It doesn’t begin flowing because you begged hard enough. It flows when you connect to it the way it was designed to work.

God’s healing power is like that.

His desire is not to withhold healing.

Jesus Himself declared:

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
— John 10:10 (NKJV)

Sickness is never God’s best for His children. His heart is always life, wholeness.

4. Your Faith Makes You Well

Jesus’ final words to this woman are remarkable.

He didn’t say, “My willingness made you well.”

He didn’t say, “The timing made you well.”

He said:

“Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
— Luke 8:48 (NKJV)

Notice that Jesus pointed to her faith.

Not because faith has power in itself, but because genuine faith connects us to the One who does.

Faith isn’t wishful thinking. It’s not willpower or believing hard enough.

Faith is confidence in God’s character, confidence in His Word, and confidence that what He has promised is true. And taking action based on that belief.

The woman believed.

She acted.

She received.

Those same principles still operate today.

It’s the way God designed faith to work.

The Question We Must All Answer

If you need healing today, ask yourself four simple questions.

  • Have I truly chosen God’s Kingdom as my ultimate source of help?
  • Do I believe God’s healing power is already available?
  • Am I putting my faith into action regularly?
  • Am I preserving in my faith?

These four principles changed one woman’s life forever.

I believe they still can today.

Because the same Jesus who healed her has not changed.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
— Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)
