One of the most important decisions we can make as followers of Jesus—especially in these intense days of deception—is to put God first and learn to walk by faith.

Throughout my life, I have observed that many people who have truly learned to trust God did not learn it when everything was going well. More often, they learned it through disappointment, failure, surrender—and ultimately, breakthrough.

Sometimes we experience a powerful move of God in our lives, and at first, things seem almost easy. Maybe healing comes quickly. Perhaps a financial breakthrough arrives suddenly. A prayer is answered so clearly that there seems to be no question that God is at work.

But then something changes.

The next prayer doesn’t seem to be answered so quickly. Circumstances begin moving in the wrong direction. Plans start to crumble. And suddenly we wonder:

Did I make a mistake? Did I really hear from God? Where is He now?

That can be one of the most important moments in our spiritual lives.

Why? Because this is when spiritual growth occurs.

Walk by Faith and Not by Sight

Walking by faith is more important than experiencing temporary success. When our plans begin to fall apart, when opposition comes, or when prayers seem unanswered, frustration can easily creep in. We may even find ourselves asking, Why didn’t God answer my prayer?

At times like these, I have learned to ask myself an even more important question:

Am I seeking the Miracle Worker—or am I seeking the miracle more than Him?

That’s a question worth considering.

Real faith does not depend upon circumstances. We make our decisions based upon God’s Word and the leading of His Holy Spirit—not simply upon what we see, how we feel, or how other people respond.

God wants us to trust Him.

He wants us to place our confidence in who He is and in what He has said. And we cannot consistently do that without regularly returning to His Word, discovering His promises, and anchoring our lives in Scripture.

Real faith begins by putting God first

God above circumstances.
God above feelings.
God above opinions.
God above everything.

Hebrews 11:6 says:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Faith is foundational to a life that pleases God. And notice something important: God doesn’t merely acknowledge faith. He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:1 reminds us:

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

That’s why faith matters most when we cannot yet see the answer.

When circumstances say one thing, but God’s Word says another, we have a decision to make: What will have the final authority in our lives?

Friends, these are days to:

Put First Things First

Seek God before seeking the answer. (Please read that again.)
Trust Him before trusting circumstances.
Return to His Word. And give it final authority.
Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit.
And keep walking by faith—especially when you cannot yet see where the road is leading.

OFF-GRID NEXT STEP: SAFE WINTER STORAGE

After renting a storage unit for some time, the decision has been made to vacate it, simplify, and prayerfully prepare for the days ahead. Nearly half of our personal belongings—including family heirlooms and memorabilia—have already been sold in preparation for what’s ahead.

However, off-grid living requires certain essential supplies and equipment that must be protected from the weather. With winter approaching, a small storage shed is needed to safely house these necessities. A good used wooden shed has been located nearby. Including pick up, transportation, and setup, approximately $1,450 is needed to make this possible after basic expenses are met.

If the Lord puts it on your heart to help with this next step, any gift—large or small—would be deeply appreciated. We’re simply moving forward one practical step at a time as God provides. Thank you.
