There was a time in my life when I believed that faith meant power.
And that’s true.
But I also thought…
If I believed strongly enough…
If I prayed clearly enough…
If I stood firmly enough…
Then surely things would change quickly.
But that’s not what I experienced.
What I discovered instead…
was that faith has a companion.
And its name is patience.
During my wife’s journey through cancer, there were moments of strong, unwavering faith. Moments where she knew—deep down—that God was with her.
As I stood by her… daily… hourly…
I watched her hold on to God’s promises.
I knew His Word is true.
I knew healing belonged to us.
But what I didn’t expect…
was how long some of those moments would need to last.
Patience isn’t something we talk about very much.
At least—not in the way we should.
We often think of patience as passive.
As waiting.
As doing nothing.
But I’ve learned something very different.
Patience is not passive.
Patience is active, steady, and deeply powerful.
Patience is what holds your ground
when nothing seems to be changing.
It’s what keeps you speaking truth
when your emotions are trying to tell you… it’s over.
It’s what helps you stay consistent
when everything in you wants to give up.
Faith starts with believing.
Patience continues.
And when those two come together…
they become stronger than we can imagine.
Stronger than fear.
Stronger than doubt.
Stronger than time itself.
There were days when she wanted immediate answers.
Days when she thought,
“Lord, I believe… so why isn’t this happening now?”
And gently, over time, she sensed Him leading her into something deeper.
Not just faith for a moment…
but faith that endures.
She began to understand that patience isn’t just “waiting.”
It’s choosing—over and over again—
to stay aligned with what God has said.
It’s speaking God’s promises out loud…
Even when you don’t see it yet.
Even when you don’t feel it yet.
Even when circumstances haven’t caught up.
And I’ll be clear…
That takes strength.
Not human strength—
but a quiet, steady strength that comes from trusting God’s character
and being filled with His Holy Spirit.
There’s a kind of endurance that grows in you
when faith and patience begin working together.
It’s not loud.
It’s not dramatic.
But it is powerful.
It’s the kind of strength that keeps you moving forward—
one step at a time.
The kind that refuses to quit.
The kind that holds on…
even in the middle of uncertainty.
If you’re in a season where things are taking longer than you expected…
If you’ve believed… and prayed… and stood…
and you’re still waiting…
Let me gently encourage you:
Don’t let go of your faith.
But don’t let go of patience either.
They were never meant to be separated.
Together… faith and patience form something incredibly powerful.
Something steady.
Something unshakable.
Something that will carry you through.
You may not see it yet.
But something is happening.
Something is growing.
Something is being established—deep within you.
And in time…
What you’ve been hoping for…
What you’ve been believing for…
will come into view.
Because faith acts on what it believes.
And patience refuses to quit.
Together… they make a way.
“that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
— Hebrews 6:12 (NKJV)
Faith reaches out and believes God’s promise is true.
Patience holds steady until that promise becomes reality.
“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”
— Hebrews 10:35–36 (NKJV)
Together… faith and patience—the power twins—will bring you through.
If this message encouraged you, I invite you to share it with someone who may need strength for their journey today.

And remember…
With God, what seems delayed is never denied.
Stay steady. Stay anchored. Stay believing.
Because with God—
nothing is impossible.
