In a world where darkness opposes the light, followers of Jesus often find themselves targeted in unseen ways. The battles many face are not visible to the eye—they are battles of the soul. And without healing, these hidden wounds can wreak havoc on our lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

One of the enemy’s most effective tactics is trauma. It doesn’t discriminate—everyone faces it to some extent. Some wounds come through painful childhood experiences, while others are inflicted through adult hardship. Trauma, especially early in life, can shape our identity, making us vulnerable to ongoing defeat. Often, it invites spiritual oppression that lingers long after the moment of injury.

In many cases, when trauma is severe, it can create an entry point in the soul for demonic influence. This can show up in various forms—emotional instability, chronic health issues, mental torment, bitterness, or cycles of failure. These outcomes are not from God. They are the fingerprints of the enemy, whose goal is clearly defined in the gospel of John:

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly….” (John 10:10)

Satan’s methods are subtle but devastating. He robs people of peace and joy. He damages relationships, health, and hope. Sometimes, he even uses others as instruments of harm—through abuse, neglect, or betrayal. But the real enemy isn’t the person; it’s the spirit operating behind them… motivating them.

We are warned in Scripture that satan is a killer and destroyer. Whether it’s disease, addiction, emotional trauma, or violent circumstances, his mission is consistent: to dismantle the work of God in your life. He wants to isolate and torment—especially if you belong to Christ.

When trauma goes unaddressed, it leaves open doors. God will not override your authority and force healing upon you. He waits for your invitation—your willingness to bring every broken place into His hands. And that starts with confronting the truth: much of the pain in our lives is likely linked to spiritual roots.

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

True healing begins with willingness:

  • A willingness to acknowledge the past.

  • A willingness to stop masking pain with performance or denial.

  • A willingness to confront the spiritual side of trauma.

  • A willingness to forgive.
  • A willingness to invite God in to heal.

If you’re battling chronic illness or unresolved emotional pain, and healing has remained out of reach, it could be because the root is deeper than the physical. Demonic oppression thrives in the shadows—but it loses power in the light.

If you’re ready to walk in freedom, the first step is to confront unforgiveness. When someone wounds you deeply, it’s not just emotional—it becomes spiritual. Holding on to bitterness is like keeping yourself chained to the one who harmed you.

You don’t forgive because it’s fair—you forgive because it’s God’s way of bringing you freedom.

“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4)

Start Here: Forgiveness Prayer

Take this moment to release the grip of anger, bitterness, and revenge. Let the following prayer guide your heart:

Heavenly Father, I recognize that I have been in unforgiveness and realize that is a sin. Please forgive me now for sinning against You. I repent of holding onto anger, blame, and unforgiveness against ____(name)_____. I ask You to cover my sin with the blood of Jesus, and I choose to walk in forgiveness and Godly love from this day forward. I ask these things in Jesus’ name.

Now speak this out loud:

“In Jesus’ name, I choose to forgive you, (name of person who harmed you). And I pray that you will repent and receive God’s forgiveness for your sins.”

Now, Surrender the Pain

Once forgiveness is released, it’s time to place every injury, every betrayal, and every memory at the cross.

Heavenly Father, I bring all my hurt, my wounds, and the damage that is in my life, to You. I bring it to the cross of Jesus and nail it there. It is no longer mine, but Yours. According to Your Word, in Psalms 55:22, You have told me to bring my burdens to You. Your Word tells me to cast my burden on the Lord and that You will sustain me. So, I am throwing my burden on You Lord, according to Your Word. And I am asking You to sustain me, in Jesus’ name.

Speak out the burdens—name them. Physical pain, emotional betrayal, rejection, fear, abuse—whatever the trauma, give it to Jesus. Picture yourself placing it at His feet.

Then pray:

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me so much. Thank You, Jesus, for redeeming me through Your suffering on the cross. I ask You to replace every evil work that Satan has accomplished in my life, with the good gifts that You provide to Your children. Thank You, Lord Jesus.

According to Your Word and in Jesus’ name, I curse and cast out every evil spirit that has tormented me or attached itself to my life!

I rebuke and render null and void every seed that the enemy has planted in my life, in Jesus’ name. I proclaim that the seeds Satan has planted—through confusion, pain, sickness, brokenness, or sin—will NOT produce any more fruit in my life, from this day forward—in Jesus’ name.

Just as Jesus cursed the fig tree and it withered from the root, I curse every evil thing that has had a foothold in me. I command every evil seed that has been planted by the enemy to die and be gone, in Jesus’ name. I proclaim that I am set free by the blood of Jesus, my Savior and Lord.

Now Invite the Holy Spirit

You’ve cleared the ground—now fill it with God’s presence.

Father, I ask that You fill me fully with Your Holy Spirit right now. I ask in faith for Your good gift, and believe that I have received it, in Jesus’ name. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13)

Live It Out

You’ve been set free. Demonic footholds have been broken. Now walk daily in truth, gratitude, and the presence of God.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Make this your new rhythm:

  • Daily thank God for healing and restoration.

  • Read the Word of God, inviting the Holy Spirit to teach you.

  • Choose to live forgiven, and to forgive.

You’re not the same. You are whole. You are free. And you are loved.

With God, nothing shall be impossible
