What is your answer for troubled times? In these days of crisis, trouble seems to surround us on all sides—from a faltering economy, to a failing business, a broken relationship or declining health. There is no shortage of trouble and uncertainty. However, in the middle of seemingly overwhelming problems, God has promised to deliver those who trust in Him. So, what is your answer for troubled times? Let’s look at what David said about God when he was in trouble times.

“You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:7 NKJV.

Wouldn’t you love to have that kind of faith and confidence? You can! Through the years I’ve learned that if you want God to be in charge of your trouble, then He must be Lord of your heart. God honors those who honor Him. So, if you’re facing problems today, don’t just whine and kick and scream and start begging Him to save you. Honor the Lord by digging deep in His Word and then DO what His Word says. Be obedient the the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Be expectant with faith—not because you deserve it, but because God promises it.

The secret is not simply in the knowing. It’s in DOING what you know.

In these Last Days in which we live, it is more important than ever to become familiar with discerning the Lord’s leading in our life. His path is the only safe place we can rest in the assurance of His protection. Practice hearing His voice. Practice recognizing His prompting as you read the Bible. As you practice, you will gain confidence.

Psalm 34 offers us a road map of how to get out of trouble. Is it a promise? Yes! But it is conditional on doing what God tells us will take us from trouble to deliverance.
