These days TRUTH is like gold. Challenging to find but worth the effort. The power in TRUTH is something every believer needs… especially at we draw nearer to the return of Jesus.

We live in a fallen world where two opposing kingdoms are at war. Jesus is the Lord of one kingdom and Satan is the lord of the other. As followers of Jesus we are re-born as citizens of God’s kingdom. And everyone who has not accepted Jesus as Savior is a citizen of Satan’s kingdom by default.

Jesus is not the author of the trials you are facing. Satan, as the temporary god of this world, is the problem. As followers of Jesus who are living in this fallen world, so sorrow and suffering is something we should expect. However, that does not mean that we do not overcome. Jesus alerted us, “…In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NKJV).

In John 10:10 God’s word tells us that Satan is a thief. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” He is also the Great Deceiver and Liar. In fact, Jesus said, “He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44 NKJV).

Some people think there is no absolute truth. “Truth” for them is simply what they believe it is and everything is relative. Consider what Jesus Christ said about truth. He taught not only that there is an absolute truth, but also that He is that Truth. In John 14:6 Jesus is quoted as saying, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” He also revealed the power that is in the truth when he said, “And you will know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). These scriptures give us a glimpse of how powerful TRUTH really is.

Do you also see the contrast Jesus made between Himself and Satan? Jesus is Truth and Satan is a Liar. But just as turning on a light in a dark room dispels the darkness… if Jesus is allowed to reign and rule in your life, He is the Light source that brings victory. Allow the Source of Life to fill your dark places with His Light. And the darkness and sorrow will have no place to reside.

God is a good God. He protects and warns those who are faithful to Him. He knows better than anyone that we are living in a fallen world full of tribulation. He wants to guide us safely through. It is now more important than ever to know whether you’re living your life based on God’s truth or the world’s facts.

Just as God is alive and well and works through His faithful followers, Satan also has his people to do his bidding. Of course he uses demons (evil spirits). But Satan also uses human agents in this world… those who are citizens of his kingdom–those who are part of the global Deep State. He uses powerful people to confuse, distract and exhaust believers.

Satan, the Father of Lies, doesn’t spend his time harassing the people headed for hell. Those people are already citizens of his kingdom… He’s already won those battles. Instead he targets the believer—those who have put their trust in Jesus the Messiah.

The more you walk in the ways of God (truth) and use the authority that Jesus has given to you, the more power you pack. And when you learn to use that superior authority correctly, the more victory you experience. Remember, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

So what do you believe is true? What is the source of your information? Does it line up with God’s Word or is it coming from this world and this world’s sources? Where do YOU get YOUR information? Can you trust it? The great advantage of the Holy Spirit is that – if we ask, He will guide us to truth. But don’t forget to ask… and then thank Him for answering your prayer. And don’t stop there. Seek the truth in faith. Just as you would pan for gold. And then determine if what you are learning lines up with God’s Word.

The truth is always available… if you look for it. Too many believers have become complacent and passive. They think that because they go to church every week (remember those days?) where the pastor talks about God, then anything the pastor says must be the truth. Not so, my friends. Keep an alert spirit and judge everything you hear against God’s Word before you accept that it is true. God holds each of us accountable to judge truth. And Truth comes from knowing God’s Word.

Don’t lose heart, friends. God is using His people… those who will not compromise. He’s looking for those who are faithful, those who are lovers of God and seekers of truth.

Living in these days, as a believer in Christ, means you’re likely living in a way that is contrary to your neighbor… contrary to the current culture and to what society is comfortable with. You are swimming upstream in a strong current. But you can do it. Together, we can do a lot. And remember, with God nothing is impossible!
