The Bible tells us that In the last days, deception will seep into the church. The word ‘church’ in this context is referring to a group of Christians. Church is also a biblical word for “Assembly of believers”…Not a building

You need to understand that The ‘Church” is the battlefield in these last days. The Bible cautions about false teachers coming into the church to deceive many. Both Jesus and Paul distinctly warned us of Satan’s strategy to attack within the church through false doctrines and deceptive leaders (2 Peter 2:1-10).

I just concluded a three-month study of Church Planting and am shocked and stunned with my findings. I wasn’t looking for trouble… wasn’t expecting problems. I had an open heart and knew I needed to learn and grow in order to be all God wanted. But what I found being peddled within the majority of the Church Planting programs as well as in the new type of churches that are springing up, is the ever spreading gospel of comfort… it’s a gospel of accommodation… and facilitation. At first it sounded enticing, even Godly. But the more I learned the more a conviction built up in my heart. Even a grieving as I saw what Satan was doing in the churches.

Much to my surprise I have found that nowadays there are many companies and corporations that teach you how to plant and grow a new church in record time. They offer strategies, marketing plans, methods to plant and grow any new church. Some even offer strategies on how to create a mega church quickly.

Part of the problem is that according to current statistics 100-200 churches are closing their doors each WEEK. And 6,000 to 10,000 are dying every year. That’s only in America. In the place of these disappearing churches, 1000 new churches are being added each year.

Since the churches as a whole are being told they must change or die, these new start-up churches are coming out of the gate with a new strategy. A strategy to accommodate and entertain the people. They believe it is the only way to succeed in this new day.

The new church model that is being propagated is a gospel that embraces all. I call it the gospel of convenience. It makes everyone feel comfortable–no matter their lifestyle or beliefs. It provides entertainment to entice people to stay. And instead of strong gospel in line with what Jesus and the early church leaders taught, the sermons are accommodating.

This new gospel is spreading at record levels. Let’s look at what “accommodate” means, because this word describes what I see in the majority of American churches today.

Accommodate: To adapt. To make suitable or acceptable. It also means to adjust, to make something convenient. It means to yield to the desires of others. To placate them. In many ways it means to enable them with their own desires.

The pastors don’t talk about sin, hell and judgement, but only about God’s love and His desire to bless you and provide you with prosperity, and whatever you want. This is a gospel that has lost all meaning of what the cross of Jesus represents… repentance of sin, dying to self and surrendering all.

This new gospel which has rapidly spread in America and abroad, is a false gospel. Many new church leaders are ambitious. Their desire is to grow numbers and personal assets. They strive to increase personal net worth while their people are becoming spiritually bankrupt.

Why am I alerting you to this? Because God has called me to warn, prepare and equip the followers of Jesus for the last days… the perilous days that are right in front of us. I must now say that if you are inside a church of convenience, hearing a gospel of accommodation, you are vulnerable to being deceived by the coming great deception. And like the frog cooking in rapidly heating water… remaining inside a church of accommodation or convenience…  is not going to get you ready for what’s ahead… days of persecution.

In Luke 12:51 Jesus said, “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. Does that surprise you? If that statement makes you uncomfortable, you have to ask “why?” This false gospel of peace and unity with the world is a deception. Jesus said, He has come to bring division. Not between brothers and sisters in Christ, but between believers in the person and message of Jesus and non-believers. In 1 John 2:23 we are told, “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” This is clear. If you accept Jesus, that includes accepting all that He is and what He taught.

Jesus didn’t preach a gospel that makes people feel good about themselves, “just as they are.” Nor did He want people to be comfortable in their sins. Just the opposite. He wants us to realize that without Him and His righteousness, we are unacceptable to God. And we can’t simply hide out under our idea of His righteousness and yet continue to live as we choose and expect to be found acceptable when we face His judgement.

I ask you, what is at the root? Look around the world you live in. Take stock as to what’s REALLY going on. Is it politics? Democrat vs Republican? Conservative party, Labor party? Is it racism? Crime? Is it economic injustice? Education. A broken judicial system. What is it? What is at the root?

Friends, It is the eternal battle for the souls of men. Satan, who is the god of this world, is trying his best to steal men and women’s souls. His time is short. And Jesus, the Son of God, the Messiah, is the solution to all of man’s problems. He is also the root of the division.

In Luke 12:51-53 Jesus said, Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

As part of the church we cannot embrace unity with other beliefs if they do not embrace Jesus as the one and only Son of God. At the bottom of all the chaos…if you look for the root problem, you find an eternal battle raging between Jesus and Satan. It’s not God vs. Satan. I’m talking about Jesus the Messiah… the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The one and only Holy God of Heaven and earth.

We get only PART of the truth with the gospel of convenience. For example; We are being told that God is love… and He is. But He is also judge. He is love…AND HE is just and holy and He will not tolerate other gods. He hates pride. We have to take all of God, not just the parts we like that make us comfortable. God doesn’t and won’t stoop to our level… we must approach God on His terms and via His ways… or not at all.

When I went into ministry, as a volunteer, over 40 years ago, I helped fund many, many well known ministers of today. I won’t mention names, but many of my peers are leading large churches and mega ministries. Years ago some of them bought jets and huge homes and spent millions on studios and equipment. Today, those same people are buying a second or third mansion and are replacing their two engine jet with a three engine jet…and not even selling, but keeping the old jet as well.

Many rock solid pastors, who are true to the faith, don’t know how to compete with this NEW gospel that entices the multitudes. They feel like failures every week, because they can no longer fund their ministry. I’m told that over 2400 pastors come out of ministry each year in America. In their place are new, younger churches with a culturally correct, politically correct gospel, and a feel-good gospel—in essence, a gospel of accommodation.

It is a culturally acceptable, convenient gospel that panders to the desires and the weakness of sinful men and women in order to build numbers and “not offend.” It is a gospel of comfort and accommodation because it’s adapting and adjusting the true gospel to appease and attract sinners and keep them coming back. It is a gospel embraces building the latest mega church more than setting men free. Because if it’s big… it must be doing the right things. Isn’t that how most view success nowadays? Increase the giving budget, establish clout among other ministers and gain status in their cities. That is the goal of so many of these new church leaders. These young misguided and compromised pastors grow in their pride, feeling arrogant… and inside they are spiritually suffocating. The spiritual decay they are spreading is causing a spiritual cancer that kills.

This new gospel accommodates people’s offense of the cross… of sin… and judgement. In Romans 9:33 it says, “Behold I lay in Zion a stumbling stone of a rock of offense.” Paul spoke of the offense of the cross and we’re coming now to the core of why God hates this new doctrine.

God demands more than coming to the cross. He demands that we die to self and live to Christ and then pick up our cross and follow Him. In order to live in God’s protection through the upcoming days of persecution, everything a person has and owns and trusts in, needs to be nailed to the cross of Jesus. To be adopted into God’s family means that you liberate yourself from everything you leaned on before coming to Jesus. We are to imitate Christ by dying to self and allowing Him to resurrect us to a new life in Him.

But in this new gospel of convenience, there is nothing said about dying to self, being crucified with Christ. There is little to nothing said about obedience, the unacceptability of sin. Nothing is mentioned about laying down your life and picking up His life.

It’s not enough to come to the cross, repeat a little prayer then go back to your old life and expect that you now belong to God and are guaranteed Heaven for eternity.

I’m afraid a majority of people who claim to be Christians in these last days have been to the cross but they’ve never nailed their flesh to the cross. They’ve never been buried with Christ. Paul said, “I died with Christ. I was raised with Christ. I was crucified with Christ.” We are not only to come to the cross, but we are to pick up our cross and follow Him. In that… is New Life.

What do you do now?
If you are a believer in Jesus, a follower of the Messiah, then take the next step. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Read a good translation of the Bible… not a paraphrase. And use the Word of God as the plumb line for daily living. When you think of the cross… when you see a cross… be reminded that the cross tells you and me that we are in need of a Savior. Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, He came to earth as the prophesied Messiah. He laid His life down for you and me. The Bible says, “…Jesus came into the world not to condemn the world but that the world through Him would be saved.” Give yourself TO Him. If you are a believer…then make a new start–rededicate your life to Him now and give Him your all.

We are told that to receive His benefits and His life, we must give up our own.

Take the quality time necessary to humble yourself before the Lord and rededicate your life and everything in it, to Him and His purposes. Ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Commit yourself to walk daily, surrendered to Him.

If you really want to live in victory and have Godly success, no matter what comes your way, you will need to base your life on the living Word of God. You can do it!

BELIEVERS UNITE! Satan tries to divide… to dis-unify. But together we can do amazing and wonderful things. Look at this promise from God to the children of Israel. “Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight.” Leviticus 26:8.

Another praise report this week:
I happened to catch Capt. Dale on Tribulation radio and loved every word of his incredible journey. I have since ordered his book. What a genuine heart for the lost. If any listener hadn’t already accepted Christ into their life, after Dale’s program and invitation, anyone would have an undeniable desire to do so. Take the journey with Jesus as your co-pilot, it is well worth it all. Dan L, Miami, FL
