You might be saying to yourself, “I’m not attractive” or “I’m not smart enough” or “I don’t have any talents” or “I’m not good enough!”
If you battle thoughts of worthlessness, inferiority, and low self-esteem, then today is the day to let go of all those negative thoughts! It is a choice you make in order to bring your belief system into agreement with God instead of letting this fallen world dictate who you are and and what you’re worth.
I’d like to share a perspective I receive while in heaven following the airplane crash from which I was the only survivor. In heaven, I was able to see people the way God saw them… the way He created them. It changed everything.
Each person in heaven was wonderfully unique. And each individual quality they had, although different from others, reflected God’s glory in a way worthy of joy and thanksgiving. No one felt embarrassed about anything. Not a single person was insecure. No one is regretful about how God made them because in heaven, each one sees the perfect plan and purpose of God in themselves and in others.
I noticed people of different races, skin tones, and features—differences that often cause racism and division on earth. But in heaven, the differences are never a source of division or negative distinction. Quite the opposite. God is glorified continually for the display of His perfect creativity in each person and the beauty each reflects.
The differences that divide on earth bring glory to God in heaven and thanksgiving and praise from the people. It’s all about seeing things through God’s eyes and not accepting the lies that Satan feeds the people–especially Christians. Satan hates people because they are God’s creation and created in His image. He does everything he can to diminish and destroy those God loves.
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139:14.
In this world, without heaven’s perspective we tend to believe the lies from the “accuser of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10) and the agents he uses. So how do you get rid of insecurity that’s been there your whole life? By realizing that you are a valuable masterpiece to God. And by renewing your mind to think like God thinks. In fact in Psalm 17:8 we learn that God sees you as the apple of His eye.
Learning to bring your perspective into agreement with God is key to overcoming a negative self image. This isn’t about being arrogant. Sometimes people become confused, thinking that self-loathing is the same as humility. But sadly, when we demean ourselves or think or speak negatively about ourselves, we’re simply agreeing with the devil. That can’t be good. Especially since God made you. So it’s time to take action and fight a spiritual fight to take back your godly self image.
Try to accept the truth of how special you are to God and how you are created to fulfill a plan He has had for you from before you were born.
“just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love” Ephesians 1:4.
Change the negative thoughts to God’s thoughts. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2 NKJV.
You can’t just remove the bad, you must replace bad with good. When you realize you are having a negative thought about yourself say, “no! that is not true.” God says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” When we repeatedly tell ourselves what is true from God’s perspective, the negative thoughts will gradually disappear. Remind yourself often that you really are loved and accepted by God exactly as you are right now and He will help you become the version of you He had in mind when He created you.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.
* Pray this aloud. “Thank You, Father, that I am perfectly made in the image of Christ. You have known me from the foundations of the world and You formed me in my mother’s womb. I Am the apple of Your eye. Thank You dear Lord for making me, loving me and having a marvelous plan for my life.”
As you pray that daily, or hourly, you will be renewing your mind to think like Christ. This will increase your faith and create in you a person ready to be used by God for His purpose.
Thank you for supporting this ministry in prayer and with your finances as we strive to build God’s kingdom. We can do so much more together than we can separately.
You are loved and prayed for. Remember, with God nothing is impossible!
