Jesus came to save, heal and deliver. Satan, on the other hand, sets traps for our faith in an attempt to “steal, kill and destroy.” Jesus told His disciples, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 (NKJV)
In addition to our spiritual salvation, Jesus paid for our physical infirmity by His stripes (the whippings He took on His body). 1 Peter 2:24 says, “Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed.” He accomplished all we need to enable us to live in freedom from this fallen and infirmed world. Yet, few there are who truly believe and walk in that freedom. Most often this is due to confusion or lack of understanding.
God is not a God of compromise and He is the same today, yesterday and forever. He does not say one thing and do something different and He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). These things we read in the Bible are true because they are in His Word… whether we choose to believe or not. “The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” Psalm 119:160.
As followers of Jesus, we will automatically become dimmer as the darkness further pushes us to compromise. But that does NOT need to happen. In fact, just the opposite is God’s will. But we must chose daily and make a firm choice to press into Jesus in a deeper and more committed devotion. God will draw closer to those who draw close to Him.
It is more important than ever to keep God’s Word planted in our hearts. It is more important than ever to live as a reflection of heaven through believing and acting on God’s promises. Compromise in the Church is everywhere and growing. But godly living is not only possible but there is a growing army of believers who have had enough of compromise. That army is rising up and growing into the last days remnant Church of our Lord Jesus.
As you are sensing and are becoming increasingly aware, difficult times are coming. God will use persecution and tribulation to test those who profess Him. This time of testing will reveal and separate who is truly faithful and those who compromise. As described in the Bible there is already a separation happening between the tares and the wheat. It’s almost too late to prepare. That’s how close we are to the beginning of the 70th week. BUT THERE IS STILL TIME. Start preparing for this testing now, before the storm is raging. God gives protection to His faithful.
“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 3:10.
The words “keep you” in this scripture is a verb–tereo” and means: “to watch over, preserve, keep, watch.” God does not remove us from the time of testing as many think, but watches over those who are faithful during the time of testing. Also, in the above Scripture He says, “Because you have kept My command to persevere.” He is commanding His people to persevere through the trial, not to run from it.
I sense in my spirit that His body of believers will not be removed from trouble but will go through it successfully. In the midst of trial, God will preserve and watch over those who trust in Him. It is our flesh that wants no troubles. Our flesh wants to run when trouble comes. We need to follow His lead in all decisions, certainly, but He wants us to overcome difficulty with His power and with the promises He has provided. In the midst of trial we are purified if we trust in Him.
When we look at the opening Scripture to this message (John 10:10), it can give the impression that God doesn’t want us to have troubles. Or if we are believers in Jesus the Messiah then everything will be rosy. Quite the opposite is true. When we become disciples of Jesus Christ, we have denounced Satan and his authority over us and we have put ourselves under the authority of Jesus Christ. Satan is unhappy about losing you and I to his enemy?
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Let us NOT be bound by Satan with sin or sickness or oppression. Let us please our heavenly Father and live free of the enemy’s deceptions and his attempts to dominate us spiritually, mentally, or physically.
Remember, with God nothing is impossible!
