We are facing a crossroads in the believing yet compromised church. A choice: To let go of the things we want to be true, the things we have been taught from the pulpit, Or, get back to what God is teaching His faithful church from the Scripture. Anything contrary to Scripture is false doctrine and puts us in a position of being deceived. As we face the prophetic last days, it is more important than ever to strip away everything that is not clearly provided in God’s Word.

“The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” Psalm 119:160.

It is time to grow into mature Christians if we want to traverse the last days with God’s protection. Taking a scripture out of context to reflect what we want is something the immature do. We must look at ALL of God’s Word in order to understand what is true. God’s Word taken together as a whole, gives us a very different picture than a verse here or a verse there that we put together in order to paint a picture of something we “want” rather than something that is true according to the fullness of God’s Word.

It is only now, in this generation, that modern Israel is in the biblical position required to allow the fulfillment of the end times.

We are the first generation of the church since the early church that existed before the Diaspora in A.D. 70 that could conceivably see all the remaining prophesied end time events come together almost overnight. When you consider that truth, it is both exciting and shocking.

The Diaspora (due to Israel’s disobedience and rejection of their Messiah) “triggered” the interlude between the sixty-ninth and seventieth weeks. In like manner, the return of Israel to their homeland was the event that kicked back into motion the events that will initiate the seventieth week of Daniel.

Possibly you are not aware that there is a specific 7-year period of time (70th week of Daniel) prophesied, that must take place before the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ begins. Within that final 7 years (70th week of Daniel), all of the last days events unfold in systematic detail….

  • The Antichrist signs a peace agreement with Israel (this is the signal of the final 7 years beginning or the initiation of the 70th week of Daniel).
  • The Seals are unsealed during these 7 years.
  • At the Midpoint (3 ½ years into the 7 years) is when the Antichrist reveals himself to Israel and the world as the evil dictator that he is.
  • During the final 3 ½ years (immediately following the midpoint) the Bible describes the “wrath of Antichrist against Israel and the church.
  • During this same time the Mark of the Beast is instituted, and the great apostasy (falling away) occurs. The mark will be required by all in order to buy or sell, work, function in society, etc. Without it you will be killed by the Antichrist system.
  • The faithful church is raptured during this second half of the 7 years during the Antichrist’s wrath against Israel and the church.
  • Immediately following the catching away of the faithful church, the wrath of God will be poured out on the unbelieving world culminating in the Battle of Armageddon and the return of earth’s rule to Jesus Christ.

We will discuss these events in the coming weeks with all the scripture to support this sequence.

Today, let’s consider Daniel’s prophecy. “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people . . . “(Daniel 9:24a) Sixty-nine weeks are history and concluded on what we call Palm Sunday—the day Jesus was hailed as Messiah.

The church has been waiting for the seventieth week to begin ever since. But there were prophecies that required fulfillment: Israel needed to be back, once again, in her own land and Israel needed to be in authority over Jerusalem (the “holy city”).

Israel’s return to her homeland was foretold in God’s revelation to Moses:

“ (1) So it shall be when all these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you [the Diaspora] … (5) [then] the Lord your God will bring you [back] into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. (6) Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live. (7) And the Lord your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. (8) And you shall again obey the Lord, and observe all His commandments which I command you today. (9) Then the Lord your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the Lord will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers.” Deuteronomy 30:1, 5-9.

The sequence of events in that passage is highly significance.

  • Verse 1 speaks of the Jews’ blessings and curses, in response to whether they obeyed or disobeyed the Lord, and their worldwide dispersion which was a result of their sin of disobedience. (This has occurred – A.D. 70.)
  • Verse 5 foretells their eventual physical restoration to the Promised Land. (This has occurred – 1948.)
  • Verse 6 tells of their eventual spiritual restoration to God. (This has not yet occurred, nor have any of the following aspects of the prophesy as of the writing of this message.)
  • Verse 7 describes the supernatural defeat of their enemies.
  • Verse 8 refers to that future time, when Israel obeys God and observes all of His commandments.
  • Verse 9 tells of the resulting prosperity that will eventually come to the nation of Israel during a time that can only refer to the millennial rule of Christ.

This sequence is also reflected in Ezekiel’s prophecy below:

“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:24-26.

As is described in both passages, Israel will first be brought back to the land in unbelief. The fact that she would need purification of heart (Deuteronomy 30:6) and cleansing from sinfulness (Ezekiel 36:25) indicates that she would not return in faith and righteousness. She would initially return as “dry bones,” a lifeless spiritual skeleton (Ezekiel 37:11).

As modern history reveals, the current nation of Israel was established in a spirit of self-reliance—by what Jews considered to be the power of their own abilities. Although the nation has experienced great economic and military successes since its reestablishment in the land, she also looks on these successes as her own doing rather than the work of God.

It was not until the middle of the twentieth century, that the divinely prophesied and long-awaited reestablishment of the nation of Israel materialized, when in 1948 the United Nations officially recognized Israel as a sovereign state.

The second condition that needed to be met in order for the stage to be set to fulfill prophecy is that the Israel had to be in control of Jerusalem. When they were first recognized as a nation they were not in control of Jerusalem. Yet, scripture dictated: “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city . . .”

Not only is it necessary for the Jews to have occupancy of their land before the seventieth week begins, but the city of Jerusalem “your holy city” as well.

Not until after the Six-Day War of 1967, was the entire city of Jerusalem along with the West Bank of the Jordan, reincorporated into the nation of Israel. And because the seventy-week prophecy of Daniel deals with “your people [Israel] and your holy city [Jerusalem]” (Daniel 9:24), the prophecies of the 70th week could not be fulfilled until Israel not only took possession of her land but regained control of God’s “holy city.” It was in 1967, that the greatest and last historical barrier to the second coming of Christ was completely removed.

There are additional prophecies that will take place prior to the rapture of the faithful saints (during the 70th week), however, these final 7 years (the 70th week of Daniel) are now closer than ever to fulfillment and could literally begin at any moment.

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21:28.
