You have likely noticed that unrest and tribulation have heated to a boiling point in recent months. This has exposed the underlying weaknesses in the Body of Christ. Pressure always has a way of exposing flaws and deficiency. But this time, unlike in times past, “pastors” and “spiritual leaders” have endorsed the world’s way of dealing with a pandemic without scientific proof or even common sense. Scores of spiritual leaders have been reduced to convincing their flock that they should allow a synthetic pathogen to be injected into their body to protect them from the flu instead of trusting in the Lord. Why are honest medical doctors declaring at great personal cost to themselves a red alert to this injection? Well, let’s define synthetic pathogen for starters. Simply said, it is man-made disease injected into the human body. Do you actually think that Jesus Himself would advise His followers to inject disease into their own bodies?
2 Timothy 2:3 reminds us of how God thinks. “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” God allows the refining process for our spiritual growth and maturity. The refining process causes impurities to rise to the surface, allowing them to be removed from the precious metal. This makes the gold or silver purer. God’s intent is to bring our sins (dross/impurities) to the surface where they are visible and can be dealt with. When this occurs, we grow in our faith and become more Christ-like. But we must be willing to mature in spiritual understanding.
Instead of being unified and strong, the Body of Christ is far too often torn apart by division and criticisms. These come not from without, but from within? Do you want to know why the Body of Christ has been in such a mess over the past few years? Why has Satan been able to make a public display of our weaknesses?
It is because, as the Lord said in Hebrews, the people of God have not matured and do not understand God’s ways. Christians, for the most part have been “playing church” rather than leaning into God’s Word and putting it into practice in their lives. Hebrews 5:12 calls out the Church when it says, the people of God are still babies in need of milk instead of strong meat because they don’t know God’s ways. Let’s consider God’s Word….
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers [because of the time you have had to learn these truths], you actually need someone to teach you again the elementary principles of God’s word [from the beginning], and you have come to be continually in need of milk, not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant.” Hebrews 5:12-13 AMP.
That’s why He’s commissioned me and other mature Bible teachers to train believers who are unskilled in the Word of righteousness and help bring them to maturity.
“Sure,” you say, But what can I do?” Well, I’ll tell you. I believe God has called every Christian to do something. You’ll find it in Hebrews 3:13. “But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication].”
That’s a direct command from the Lord. And it’s one we all must each obey. Think about the impact that action would have on the Body of Christ as a whole if everyone who calls themselves a follower of Jesus would do it.
Exhort and encourage one another each and every day to stay the course and grow in spiritual understanding. Pray over that scripture today, won’t you? Ask God how He wants you to fulfill that command.
“As iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens [and influences] another [through discussion]” Proverbs 27:17 AMP.
The Body of Christ is full of spiritual babies and more are being born all the time. You can help bring them from milk to meat. Begin to exhort them… today.
