In these end times, it is more important than ever that we regularly evaluate whether God is in first place in our life.
“…For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7b.
God knows the heart of mankind and knows where a person’s loyalties lie. We, however, are often self-deceived. As the spirit of Antichrist grows, it brings with it great deception. It is time to be on guard, that our faithfulness is true and our trust in God is ahead of our trust in anything this world provides.
God honors those who honor Him. He doesn’t forget the acts of faithfulness to Him that you show. Honor and faithfulness go hand in hand. What does being faithful mean? When you are faithful you are loyal, unwavering, and reliable regardless of circumstance. Apart from God we would not know what faithfulness is because faithfulness comes from the Lord.
Matthew 24:45-46 reminds us, “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, who, the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.”
Think about this important concept for a moment. By honoring God with your life, your words, your giving and your attitude… God will honor you. By being faithful before God with the responsibilities you currently have, you are stepping into a realm of blessing that will literally take an eternity to explore.
Once you get this eternal perspective on things, you’ll see that it’s greatly immature to become upset at God when temporary things don’t work out exactly how and when you want them to. You’ll see that your loyalty must be first of all to God… that you must seek first His kingdom—even when things seem to be going contrary to your benefit. The Bible says that if you’ll do that, all these other things will be added unto you.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” Matthew 6:33.
God doesn’t forget. He’ll remember that in the heat of the battle, when others were giving up and saying, “Hey, this following God stuff doesn’t work!” You were still honoring God by standing firm and speaking His promises.
So, during this unique time in history, determine in your heart today to be loyal toward God in every word you speak. Make up your mind once and for all that nothing in your life is as vital as honoring Him. Keep honoring Him and doing what He leads you to do. Remember to speak His promises out your mouth. And make certain your actions are in agreement with His ways.
The days are growing short and the times are uncertain. Use this time to build your faith. And practice praising Him and thanking Him in faith for all He has done, and is continuing to do—even before you see the manifestations.
If you’ll practice this—especially during the difficult times—it will work wonderfully for you throughout life. And in eternity you’ll be so glad you did as you will be abundantly rewarded for your faithfulness in honoring God.
The ultimate test of faithfulness is coming, when the Antichrist will demand our allegiance to him over our faithfulness to God. Are you certain you will withstand that test? It will be buried in deception and easy to justify that it really doesn’t mean disloyalty to God to feed our family and obey the government leaders. But the Bible is clear… it will mean disloyalty to God. Pay attention. Mankind is currently being prepped for the great deception.
In fact, the Bible is clear that a leader is coming who will rule the New World Order. He will be likeable and seem to care about mankind. He will solve many of the world’s problems… but all to win our trust and cause us to drop our guard. He will be a peacemaker and eventually put himself into position to be obeyed. It will all e quite logical and reasonable to obey his dictates. There will be rewards for obeying and punishment if we do not.
The Bible goes on to warn believers that if they rationalize the deception in order to enhance their earthly life, God will not only allow them to be deceived, but will send them delusion to believe the lie, and they will be condemned for eternity.
Consider 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
Do you love the truth? Are you seeking truth diligently? As followers of Jesus Christ, we must daily determine who and what we believe as truth. Anything in this world that takes our loyalty away from trusting in God, must be questioned in light of eternal consequences and eternal blessings.
We must serve God with an eternal perspective–not a worldly one. God honors those who honor him.
“…for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.” 1 Samuel 2:30.
God is faithful to those who are faithful to Him. He is using these difficult days to expose to us where our loyalties really lie so that we can course correct if need be before it is too late.
Honor God and He will honor you. And remember, with God nothing is impossible!

Earlier this month (January, 2022), Scott Davison, the CEO of OneAmerica, a $100 billion insurance company based out of Indiana, made headline news when he announced that the death rate on life insurance claims skyrocketed an unprecedented 40% among those between the ages of 18 and 64 in 2021.
