What would Jesus do if He came to your home? This question should send each of us directly to the Bible in search of the answer. Jesus is the Living Word. His teachings are as relevant today as they were 2000 years ago. Let’s look at the Word of God for the help we need to answer this very personal question.

The good news is that God is raising up a Faithful Remnant. Hopefully, you are determined to be part of that group–the bride of Christ. In these last days there is a separation occurring between the faithful and the compromised. It will culminate with the Mark of the Beast when many who currently call themselves Christians will buckle under the Antichrist’s persecution and submit to him and his dictates over their faithfulness to Jesus Christ. It does not even take a renunciation of Jesus to worship another… it simply takes a submission to another power in place of Jesus.

“For you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God” Exodus 34:14.

The church has become worldly and political in place of being followers of Jesus. There is nothing wrong with being political. We should stand for what is righteous and we should hate what is evil. As we see evil increase and we discern evil people in our midst, it is understandable that we take “hating evil” to the next level and begin hating the people who do evil. yet God clearly instructs us to love our enemies. This is not so that the evil person is not held accountable. If you read the Old Testament, you see that God continually held people accountable for their transgression. God has given us this instruction to protect us, His people. If we allow hatred into our hearts, we cannot hold God’s love there also. And God’s clear instruction is to love the brethren, and also those who need Christ, with His love.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.” Matthew 5:38-41.

The faithful remnant are to be givers, and lovers of God and His creation. The faithful remnant are those who treat God’s Word as if it is the final authority over any situation. Jesus also told us how we are to treat those who are against us, those who persecute us.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:43.

Let’s face it, the ways of God are contrary to the ways of this world–even things in this world that look good may not be in line with God’s uncompromising Word. Jesus sets a high standard. A standard that is not natural but supernatural. The wonderful thing is that He also provided us His strength with which to accomplish the supernatural. Protection and peace of mind is yours for the taking by staying focused on the truth of God’s Word.

Satan is the author of the chaos we see, the root of the sin we observe. and the deception that is all around us. He, and his allies are the problem. The Bible tells us that the devil comes to “steal, kill and destroy.”

But there is another problem, and this is huge. The “Church” as a whole, has been compromised for decades. No, not every church. Not every pastor or Christian leader is compromised. Yet, as a group, the Church as a whole is losing it’s power as it becomes weaker and more compromised. The combined strength of today’s disciples of the risen Lord is changing. Instead of being the spiritual light and salt in this world, our collective light has become dimmer and we are gradually losing our “flavor.” When this happens, just as it happened to God’s chosen people in the Old Testament, evil abounds.

But we, the faithful remnant, we are above acting carnally. We operate with the anointing of God, His power and His strength.

Matthew 5:13-15 states: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”

Too often believers of Jesus Christ are like the frog in the pot of water that gets hotter and hotter so gradually that they don’t realize they are slowly dying. We have watched the culture of the ‘world’ seep into the church for decades. The church too often strives to imitate the world in order to attract more people rather than allowing the power of God and the fullness of the Holy Spirit to be what draws people to the true church.

The corporate Church is more concerned about looking respectable and being successful according to the world’s standards, than pleasing God. But be encouraged in the midst of this storm. God still has a remnant. A power-packed special-forces part of His faithful Church. Like in the Old Testament we see this “remnant” most clearly in places where persecution abounds. And although God does not bring the persecution, He is using it to separate the faithful from the unfaithful.

Are you prepared for hard times? God’s Word tells us, “But realize this, that in the last days, difficult times will come.” 2 Timothy 3:1. Know this word to be true. Jesus told us, we are as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves” Matthew 10:16. We are to be wise and prepare for what’s coming as much as we are able. Simultaneously, we are to put our trust in the Lord for all that we are unable to do for ourselves. Jesus taught us to face these days without fear. We can only do that if we have faith that we are doing what God has asked of us. We must remember that we are to be people of faith and also use the Lord Jesus’ authority over the evil one. But we must USE that authority not just talk about it.

Psalms 91 is a wonderful passage that gives us promise and understanding of why we do not need to walk in fear. “Because he loves me, says the Lord, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

In summary, we are not to greet evil with evil and we are to pray for those who persecute us. Only by having a genuine personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus, can we access the promises of God in our life that provide us protection and guidance. We encourage you to spend time daily in God’s Word. Pray for those who threaten you. And claim God’s promises in your life daily.

You and I are delivered from fear as we believe in God’s supernatural power and protection. Remember, you are alive on this earth for such a time as this. You are meant to be a part of the faithful remnant… the mighty army before whom fear and all the strategies of the evil one MUST BOW ITS KNEE.

Stay in God’s Word. Speak God’s promises. Make everyday decisions with God’s
Word as your guide. In doing this, you will have the fellowship of Jesus Christ in your home and wherever you go. You can do it.

Prayerfully consider giving your titles and offerings to DBM to help us get God’s messages to those who are searching for truth.

Remember, with God nothing is impossible!
