How would you like to have GREAT fellowship with God? Would you like to know how to hear from God now and everyday from here forward? We all recognize that we are living in trying times. So, would you like to know a way to walk hand-in-hand with God every hour of every day?

The answer requires just ONE activity that anyone can do to receive the blessings mentioned above and more. You can also defeat insecurity and overcome fear in the same way. By the way, a fringe benefit of this activity gives you the most critical answer to the biggest question of all. Where will you spend eternity? You guessed it. This same single activity provides you with confidence and assurance that you’ll go to Heaven when your life on earth is through.

After several days of prayer and fasting, asking God for BIG answers to BIG questions for myself and for His children, this is the message I am bringing back to you from our Father for now. I had asked questions about global conditions and future events, and just like God, His response, at least to begin with, is about sin and righteousness in His body. God’s ways are higher than our ways, that’s for sure, but let’s discuss sin and how to rid ourselves of it and walk in God’s favor and blessings.

A most important prerequisite to walking in fellowship with God is the confession of sin. Sin must be confessed in order to restore fellowship and to continue receiving God’s forgiveness. Confession means that we agree with God about our sin. This involves much more than simply acknowledging the sin. Confession requires an attitude of sorrow for the sin, and a willingness to turn from it. It does not mean that we will never commit the same sin again, but it does mean that the attitude of repentance towards the sin is present.

Look at this scripture about this very subject: “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1: 5-10.

Confession should be made the moment a believer becomes aware of sin. Scripture actually mentions specifically that there are two times that should be used for confession. Before the close of each day (Ephesians 4:26). And before the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor. 11:27 – 32).

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, speaking of repentance…  “and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!'” Matthew 3:2 NKJV.

When Jesus heard that John the Baptist had been arrested and put in prison, He left for Galilee. From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent (change your inner self – your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17 AMP. This message was so important that both John the Baptist and Jesus spoke almost identical words.

This confession of sin is to be done with the Lord directly in prayer. But know this also… Confession of sin should involve only those who have knowledge of the sin. I believe the word tells us that private sins should be confessed privately. Sins between individuals should be confessed between those involved (Mt. 5:23;24). Yet, public sins should be confessed publicly (Matt.18:17). Public confession is normally made for the edification of the church, which you can find in 1 Cor. 14:26.

Why not start today having a daily discussion with the Lord, asking Him what you could have done or said or thought differently today? Listen to His still small voice. Let His gentle Holy Spirit direct you into becoming more like the Lord Jesus each day. Stay in an attitude of repentance. When you confess your sin to God, remember — that’s not when God finds out about your sin. That’s when you get rid of the sin and become forgiven and free. Start today and find more joy, freedom, purpose and confidence in the midst of the world racing toward its end.

And do remember, with God nothing is impossible.
