Are you focusing on the world’s headlines or God’s fine print? Every day there is shocking news to deal with and it seems like things are getting worse and worse. Headlines like: “Disastrous Departure from Afghanistan leaves Americans dead and thousands in imminent danger,” “Fake Vaccination Cards Have People Demanding Microchips Be Implanted.” In Australia, “Government demands Children dropped off for vaccination (at least two dead).” In the U.K. “No Shot, No Shop – Boris Gives Approval,” California moving forward with “The Great Reset – World Economic Forum’s agenda.”
Wild fires have ravaged homes and lives, businesses have failed in this new pandemic world, people are losing hope and a desire to continue. There is a global war raging — good vs evil. You may be one who feels temporarily secure in your personal lifestyle and are hoping that everything will go back to “normal” as soon as enough people get vaccinated. That’s certainly what’s being promoted. But this war is far more serious. In reality, we are in a spiritual war that is obvious to anyone looking on with enlightened eyes. Satan is craftily keeping us off balance with wars and rumors of wars, bombs, building collapses, mass shootings, protests, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, government mandates that constantly change, and divisions that are growing between political camps, races, communities and even families, just to name a few of the most obvious. The problems seem to be growing and creeping closer by the week.
So, are we focusing on the world’s news or God’s fine print? Even though shocking headlines are in the news every day God’s Word is more real and more relevant. Now, let’s look at the fine print:
“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6.
“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” Psalms 56:3-4.
“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.” Revelation 10:3-11.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
“…Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.
“…Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” Jeremiah 31:3.
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8.
God has given us His Word with a template to follow. If you are struggling with depression, anger, hopelessness or frustration, it is understandable. The world is in chaos and our lives and freedoms are being attacked. We are in uncharted territory. The last days are worse and more hostile than we anticipated. Now we are at a crossroad. Do we give in to our emotions and the temptations of the enemy, or… rise above this world to walk in agreement with God by lining up and obeying His Word.
Our choices matter now more than ever. By taking time to pray every day (or every hour if needed), reading God’s Word daily and meditating on it throughout the day, by praising the Lord for His goodness and for His gift of salvation, and all that He has and is doing… you are directing you spirit, soul and body into alignment with God and His kingdom. This is the ONLY safe place to live in these troublesome days. It is the ONLY way to overcome. “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34:1.
With so many churches closed, divided or compromised, we must look for other like-minded believers to worship with and strengthen each other. “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17. Reminding yourself and others of what God has done in YOUR life, will strengthen you and help you overcome all that the enemy throws at you. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11.
If we are indeed near the end of this age, just prior to Christ’s return, we must commit to lining up with God’s kingdom in every way possible. Picking up our cross and following Him is not just a religious statement. It is a needed behavior for those who will overcome. In Jesus’ own words….
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?'” Matthew 16:24-26.
I encourage you to REALLY put God on the throne of your life today. Make Him and His ways #1. Let Him live His life through you fully. He is loving, patient and kind. He knows what you need and will guide you safely through.
