This world is racing toward judgement… and Jesus is returning — Praise the Lord! In the build up for the battle of eternity the birth pangs and the tribulations in this world are increasing. Although we are taught to expect it because scripture describes it, there is still an element of “I can’t believe it’s really happening!” But it is happening. And this is not simply a temporary inconvenience.
You are already feeling the effects of the highest inflation in two generations. Believers are always given forewarnings by God and this allows us to best prepare so that we can still be about doing the Father’s business. What is His business for you and me?
To preach, teach and heal in the name of Jesus.
No doubt you’re now hearing about the Monkeypox Outbreak, the next global lockdown, as well as the continued warnings of food shortages and supply chain collapse. This is happening by design, all over the world as Satan orchestrates chaos so the Antichrist can step in with solutions and win the hearts and minds of humanity. The problem for Christians is that the solution Antichrist will offer will tempt them to set aside their allegiance to Christ over their allegiance to Antichrist’s kingdom. God’s people must prepare to go the distance in their faithfulness, if that’s the point we are at.
In reality, we are sensing that people have never been more hungry for eternal and spiritual things in our lifetime than they are now. Jesus Christ, God’s Son and the Messiah is the answer to all of humanity’s problems. Let’s do a great job this week and beyond telling those in our circle of influence that Jesus is what they want and need. His yoke is easy. He told us that. His burden is light. He said that too. Although He is part of the Godhead, He says of Himself that He is meek and lowly in heart … and You shall find rest for your souls. Read Matthew 11: 28 – 30 Find His rest and peace as you drawn nearer to the Lord.
One of the important aspects to be reminded of are other words of Jesus when He said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33. This certainly includes food and supplies and the things that you need. Of course, there is nothing more basic to human life than a person’s need for food and water. These are the basics that sustain life and we need to not worry. Yet, as good stewards responding to the warnings, we need to prepare.
We see in the history of Israel, that God allowed famine as a judgement against those who quit trusting and following the Lord. In many cases, even serving other gods.
The world in general, as well as the falsely trained modern church, has never been so willing to trust in the world and pseudo-science rather than in God. Sadly, trusting in God and expecting God to interact with us, has been made to seem outdated or naïve. Yet, we can look to God’s word to give us wonderful examples of God’s faithfulness in this essential area of need.
Consider how God multiplied the fish and loaves for more than 5000 men, plus women and children. (Matthew 14:15-21). He did it again for a group of 4000 men, plus women and children (Matthew 15:32-38). We also see in this passage that He had compassion on people being hungry. He cared about their physical needs. But we also must recognize that He was desiring to meet the need of those who were seeking Him and His teaching above their own comfort.
God doesn’t just meet our need because we have a need. He responds to those who—in faith—seek Him and trust in Him.
In Matthew 4:4 we are remined that Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit” Jeremiah 17:7-8
These are wonderful promises that describe REAL benefits for those who have their trust firmly placed in God. Consider how the widow and her son were sustained indefinitely by God multiplying their food during a food shortage caused by a drought. (1 Kings 17:7-16). The lesson we learn in this example is that the widow trusted in God as she fed the prophet first, before herself and her son, even though she was down to their last portion. By planting that seed of faith in obedience, she was sustained.
In Psalms 91 we read that God sustains, protects, and supplies those who put their trust in Him. In this passage we learn that even pestilence (plague or Covid-19) is nothing to fear for those who trust in the Lord.
“A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.” (Psalms 91:7).
In this current day as we face potential supply and food shortages. We are not to be overcome with fear, but to trust in God. We do what we are able to do in our own strength, as responsible stewards, but we also trust in the Lord to meet our need beyond what we can do in the natural world.
As a personal example, we have personally stored food and supplies, are growing our own food through a garden and hydroponics, and we pray… thanking God for supplying our need. We are trying to be responsible but we do not question that we–in our own strength–are only as strong as God is in our behalf. So all of our natural efforts do not replace asking and thanking God to bless our efforts and supply our needs in spite of lack in this world. In addition, we have a counter top water purification unit (Berkey) which allows us to purify any water we can acquire, in the event of loss of water supply.
The world is reeling with uncertainty. And God is using this instability to find out who is truly placing their trust in Him and who is trusting in this world and its Antichrist system. The church is going through a time of sifting along with the world. And we must each choose who we serve and trust. There will be no more fence sitting. God will not allow it.
Is God simply a passenger in your life? Or is He on the throne of your life? If He is on the throne, then the choices you make will be prayerfully weighed against His Word.
Jesus said in Luke 11:28, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
Jesus also said in John 14:15, If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
In Leviticus 26:3-4 God promised His people, “If you walk in My statues and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, and land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.” God is addressing the supply of food and water being given to those who obey and follow God.
Because the western church has largely become a “world loving, people-pleasing, success focused” organization rather than a watchman and lighthouse, the people of God are largely untaught and believing false doctrines about how God works and what their responsibility is as a believer. This leaves God’s people unequipped to face the deception and judgement that is coming onto the world. We can not be friends with this world and be called “a friend of God” also.
Never in the world have we faced so much blatant deception and propaganda. The Church has never been more at risk of losing their way. Let’s review what God is asking of His people during these troublesome days. Fortunately, it’s pretty simple and straightforward.
Spend time in God’s Word – Do you spend more time each day listening to the world’s perspective than planting God’s Word into your life? To follow God, it is necessary to know His ways. You cannot do that without knowing His Word.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Pray – Communicating with God instead of simply talking about Him, will strengthen your ability to be led by His Spirit and discern His direction. This is critical in these difficult days. Prayer is not simply a time to ask God for all the things you want and need. He already knows what you need. It is a time to fellowship with Him. Worship Him. Submit to His Spirit. Thank Him for all He has done and is doing and will continue to do. The above verse is so important it is written again for emphasis.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
Also, do remember to be a cheerful giver. Give to God what is God’s. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says, “He who sow sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
Remember, with God nothing is impossible!

This is very good. I agree. . . . I was prevented from starting my garden this year, at least so far. . . . ( I did a garden for the past two years) … But I would like to try, maybe indoors with a grow light . . .
Also good reminders that God is able to even multiply food , or provide it as Elijah was even fed by the ravens twice a day. I had been reading this morning about the widow who was “gathering of sticks” to make two cakes for her son and herself, in expectation that she would die afterward along with her son. …… … But it says that God told Elijah “I have commanded a widow woman to feed you there.” So actually the Holy Spirit had already spoken to her heart before Elijah arrived …..
Yes, Sister Christine, God is with the “remnant church,” and He will guide and keep us. Keep being wise, like the ant prepares for the winter. God is faithful. -LR Prayer Coordinator
I heard about a church in Arkansas (?) (Or other southern state) where they had a miracle of food that multiplied on Thanksgiving, when they fed around 600-plus people, even though they were sure that they didn’t have enough food for so many people. At the end of the dinner they noticed there was hardly anything left, and a family came to get a meal, and they were planning to tell them “no, we cannot feed you, I’m sorry but the food is gone” …. A lady turned around and saw a loaf of bread ready on the counter, and some other food, and she said “I don’t remember seeing that earlier”! ….. This is just a story that I heard 🙂
I believe that testimony 100%. Years ago, our church had a meeting with all the pastors from our sister churches in the same ministry. The women were to make supper for them after their meeting. they panicked when they discovered there wasnt enough home-made macaroni to serve all the pastors (who unexpectedly brought others with them from out of town. The women prayed and asked God for a miracle.
Amazingly, The meager amount of macaroni in the pot semed too keep on growing to where there was even leftovers– even though everyone got a full serving, and the group fed was way more than they anticipated!
this happened to me late last Summer. I had been hearing from certain prophets about coming food shortages, amongst other not so good events we will be facing, and became very discouraged. In my morning prayer time with God, I asked Him, “Lord what are we to do? we will all starve to death! Is that your will for us? (because He may permit that type of death/suffering. Who am i to say?)
Later that day, i had to visit our local grocery store. Getting out of the car, I almost stepped on a fresh pack of chicken cutlets that dropped out of someone’s bag in the parking lot. They had driven off so i placed it in my cooler bag to give to my mother. Later I stopped to donate clothes to the nearby thrift store. Again, right at my foot at their parking lot, was a pristine irish linen embroidered handkerchief. I happen to collect irish embroidered handkerchiefs- this was totally not a cooincidence! I almost stepped on it too! I recognized these two surprise gifts from God as Him telling me, “You are worried you will starve to death.. I am showing you I will not only provide your needs, but even something unneeded once in a while (that handkerchief). Trust in Me!”
Now our Lord also has been helping me store up a little extra for our pantry with a long shelf life so as to be wise in the time of plenty for the periods of famine, Yet in all things we place our trust in HIM!
Well said Sister Lisa! We will be wise and store up for the winter, as the ant is our example in the Bible. We must trust in our Lord and know that if we are part of the “remnant church,” He promised to take care of us. We must stay in His Word and keep our eyes on Jesus in these last days. -LR Prayer Coordinator
