Main stream news and even much of social media is spreading fear. Times are uncertain. Who will lead the country is unsure. There seems to be very little justice taking place, while huge threats loom. Satan has successfully created a climate of fear throughout the world. Now it is our choice what we will do in the midst of this storm.
As Christians, we should know the truth–which helps to give us freedom from fear. Our decisions need to be based on something solid that we can count on–God’s Word. We want to use wisdom, based on truth, in our response to every situation we face. Only when we stay in agreement with God’s will can we enjoy His protection over us. Scripture tells us there are two ways to behave in any given situation. And our behavior exposes whether we are:
* reacting in fear; or
* responding in faith.
When we “react” to a situation, we are allowing our emotions to lead. That is always a dangerous option because we are taking action out of fear and this means our soul is leading.
If we stop and evaluate the situation and respond to it in faith–in a way that agrees with God’s word–we are including God into the equation. Only then is our spirit (guided by the Holy Spirit) leading, which enables us to maneuver through the challenge successfully.
How do we increase our faith? Faith is always based upon God and His Word. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17. Spending time in God’s Word and planting His Word in our heart, increases our faith. Are you spending more time listening to news that brings fear? Or more time listening to God’s Word that brings faith?
1. Respond in faith–don’t react in fear. As God’s people we are told that we are not to have a spirit of fear. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. So how do we stay in faith and not slide into fear?
Start by praying in faith for God’s will to be accomplished in the situation. Then, speak words of faith that agree with God. It is not possible to control others, only yourself. But as you allow God to work through you, it will can affect the outcome. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Regarding any threat of sickness (or virus), Matthew quotes Isaiah 53:4, which gives us solid ground for our faith for healing. This scripture states that Jesus took our “infirmities” and bore our “sicknesses.” The context here refers to physical healing. When you pray for protection, recognize that you are praying in agreement with God’s will, therefore you can pray in faith for protection and health. Don’t wait until after circumstances turn negative to start praying in faith. Take your stand proactively and thank the Lord often for protection, health and healing.
To avoid fear, don’t talk about what you fear. Don’t listen to others talk about what they fear. But continue to build your faith in God as your Healer and Protector by reading scriptures that proclaim this truth. Print off the FREE Download offered on our website home page: 40 Healing Scriptures, that you can proclaim over yourself and your family daily.
2. Know the truth and put it in perspective. John 8:32 tells us, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The truth sets us free from worry, fear and confusion. Truth is the foundation of our faith.
3. Know your enemy. Satan, “comes to steal, kill and destroy” (John 10:10). Satan’s desire is to spread fear–which is belief (or faith) in a negative outcome. If you allow fear to dominate, you open the door to Satan to bring the very thing you fear upon you. “For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, And that of which I am afraid has come upon me.” Job 3:25. Remember, if you tolerate fear, you contaminate your faith. Fear and faith cannot co-exist.
4. Use the authority of Jesus. Just prior to His ascension to heaven, Jesus gave His authority to those who follow and trust in Him. That includes you and me. “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19.
Use the name of Jesus. Use the authority He has given you to stand and speak against any virus or sickness… against anything contrary to God’s will. The name of Jesus (and all that it represents), when used with faith in your heart, can neutralize Satan in any area.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.
If we do not enter the battle according to God’s will and in agreement with God’s Word, we are allowing Satan dominion in the area where he has attacked. The good news is that if we are willing to fight using our spiritual weapons, they are far superior to the weapons Satan has, and we can be victorious.
Tragically, the Church has largely lost it’s willingness or interest in fighting the spiritual battle. That is exactly why the world in currently in chaos.
5. Put your faith into action by doing things in the natural realm that reflect your faith in God and His Word. You don’t win a battle by only “wanting” to win it. God’s Word directs us again with the following scripture. James 2:17-18 says, “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
You must fight for victory with the truth of God’s Word and with the superior spiritual weapons God has provided to His people.
When you feel powerless and vulnerable, you have an opportunity for growth and to be a witness of the power of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, to let your light shine in a dark world (Matthew 5:14-16). And our response in a situation like we are currently facing, may be just such a time to shine.
Reminding you that with God nothing is impossible!

BREAKING: Bill Gates and the Uncertain Future of Food Security
AS WE APPROACH A WINTER OF DISCONTENT AND GLOBAL FOOD SYSTEMS GO FROM BAD TO WORSE, THERE’S TROUBLE IN PARADISE.
At the root of these problems, Government responses to COVID-19 have contributed to a six-fold increase in famine-like conditions as:
* global supply chains collapse,
* and field trials for gene-edited crops and farm animals begin in the UK.
