“Do not be afraid; only believe” Mark 5:36. Jesus spoke these words when He was helping a person experience God’s will through faith instead of fear and defeat.

The days are growing more evil as the enemy prepares the way for the Antichrist to appear. Deception is everywhere and fear is it’s companion. Courage to face an uncertain future is required of God’s people like never before.

Let’s look at what courage is. Courage is the willingness to take positive action against overwhelming odds. The dictionary defines courage as: the ability to do something that frightens one. Or, strength in the face of pain or grief. Courage will be needed in these last days more than ever. Let’s look at some steps all of us should take as followers of Jesus, to face the future with courage.

First, do not neglect putting on His armor each day. And don’t just put it on. Keep it on. Wear all of it. Keep in mind that it is His armor. Use that armor to keep evil away from you and your family and your business through your prayers of faith.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of  the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-13

Secondly, go on the offense. Act like Jesus did when He was in the boat and the disciples were worried about the wind and the waves (natural circumstances). Jesus did not plead for God to save Him… He spoke directly to the storm when He said, “Be still.” Jesus is our example and we are admonished to imitate Christ. Why not use that same confidence when you pray for your personal protection? Use that same prayer of faith to keep evil away from your finances, your health, your family and personal affairs. Go on the offense.

If you are serious about being a follower of Jesus and  living a spiritually courageous life, you can imitate Christ and go on the offense by:

  • starting each day in God’s word (Romans 10:17)
  • putting on your spiritual armor (Ephesians 6:10-13)
  • taking spiritual authority in prayer over the concerns of your life (Luke 10:19, Mark 11:23-24)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

When we are paralyzed by our circumstances we tend to stop taking action. That’s when fear sets in. Why is that? Because faith requires action and when we do not take action in faith, we are left with fear. “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?” Philippians 2:14 Fear is always the consequence of a lack of faith. Like weeds that grow in a garden or darkness that fills an unlit room, fear grows in the absence of faith.

When we take action in agreement with Heaven, God’s honors us with His peace. If you’ve given your heart and life to Jesus, as I and millions of others have, then we are the Body of Christ in the earth. We are called to be light and salt in this world for as long as we are here. Dear brothers and sisters, I strongly encourage you to occupy faithfully until Jesus returns or until He calls you Home.

Remember, with God nothing is impossible.
