Be Transformed – Dale Black

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” – Romans 12:2.

If you live like the world, you’ll be overcome by the world. It’s as simple as that. So don’t let the world squeeze you into its own mold. Be not conformed to this world.

Instead “…be transformed” by the entire renewal of your mind. Overcome the world by having your mind transformed to think like God thinks. In other words, when you see something in God’s Word, say, “I agree with that. From now on I’m going to take action in agreement with God instead of the way I used to act.”

There are many books that can inform you. But only the Word of God can transform you.
Information builds your mind, but God’s Word builds your spirit.

When sin calls to you, don’t answer. Agree with the Word instead and say, “I’m dead to that, Devil. You can’t pull me into it anymore. I have been set free in Jesus name.” As you do that, you’ll find yourself changing. You will find yourself living like an overcomer! And what is needed in this world right now? Believers who can overcome Satan and his allies. That can only be accomplished by replacing the world’s way of thinking and doing, with God’s way of thinking and doing.

Many Christians think they can invite Jesus into their life and continue living a sinful life, because they are under the grace of God. That is untrue. Grace is a gift of God to those who place their trust fully in Him, not those who try to use it to serve their flesh in sin.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” Romans 6:1-4.

When we are born-again, and our old spirit is reborn with the spirit of Christ, the power of this world over us is broken. We are no longer required to submit to sin. It is no longer more powerful than our new spiritual life. Praise the Lord, our new spirit is more powerful than anything Satan or this fallen world can tempt us with. As a new creation, we must train ourselves to resist the god of this world and bow only to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:5-11
