Knowing You’ll Go to Heaven – Capt. Dale Black

One of the most important issues for every person, is knowing with certainty that you are a child of God. It is vital that you know for sure–as Jesus said–that you are born-again. Paula and I regularly get questions from our partners and friends asking about the security of their salvation. The purpose of this short article is to quickly review how to be confident in your relationship with God and to be sure you are heaven bound.

In John 14:6 we find a key scripture addressing this issue. “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  Also, in John 1:12, it says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

Have you asked to receive Jesus into your heart? Do you believe He is God’s only Son and the ONLY way to God? Are you trying to live your life in agreement with His teachings? Do you confess Him as your Savior and Lord? If so, then let us together praise the Lord! You are a Christian. According to the teachings of Jesus, you are a true child of God. Therefore, heaven is your destined home.

Salvation is not about feelings. It’s not about being perfect–no one can be. It’s not about what you know or what church you belong to. It is about what God says in His Word and how you have responded to those truths with your heart. God loves you and has offered you and me the priceless gift of eternal life. If we have received that gift of salvation through Jesus, we are part of God’s immense family. In addition to knowing we will ultimately go to heaven, we can enjoy a relationship with God now, in this life. Remember also that you are not alone. There are millions and millions of believers worldwide that are our brothers and sisters because they too have accepted Jesus as their Savior. God is so good. He loves you so much.

Remember, With God Nothing Is Impossible!
